Security check

Some company required to send by fax or e-mail one or more of the following items:

-Copy of the credit card (front,back)
-Name and address of the credit card holder
-Copy of your personal Identity Card or passport
-Your signature
-photo ID
-proof of postal address
-recent bill

(actually two UK and and one Swiss company following this policy, their names not mentioned on this page at all)

Well, I strongly suggest to not give out such a personal details since as I assume these information more than enough to create an Offshore company somewhere on a remote island (e.g. tax heaven)

This not means your personal data surely going into wrong hands but be carefull.

Today several methods exist to verify the creditcard ownership:

-random charge on your card in range 0.01...1.00 USD or EUR, then you'll review your online banking record (e.g. internetbank or just check your security SMS from your bank) and find the value of pending charge and you can enter on a particular page where this method used

-random merchant ID with fix pending change 1 USD/EUR, same process as above

This solution provide enough security for card processing companies, since such a details above only available for the true card/accout owner, so no need to worry about stolen cards.
