Really long sms, even unicode

Ususally the long sms or long unicode two opposite thing. Some provider support unicode sms, some support long sms but only one both.

www.messagingbay.com support long unicode sms, looks like the only one so far.

Delivery report also available on callback URL, so you can trace what happened with your message.

Security check

Some company required to send by fax or e-mail one or more of the following items:

-Copy of the credit card (front,back)
-Name and address of the credit card holder
-Copy of your personal Identity Card or passport
-Your signature
-photo ID
-proof of postal address
-recent bill

(actually two UK and and one Swiss company following this policy, their names not mentioned on this page at all)

Well, I strongly suggest to not give out such a personal details since as I assume these information more than enough to create an Offshore company somewhere on a remote island (e.g. tax heaven)

This not means your personal data surely going into wrong hands but be carefull.

Today several methods exist to verify the creditcard ownership:

-random charge on your card in range 0.01...1.00 USD or EUR, then you'll review your online banking record (e.g. internetbank or just check your security SMS from your bank) and find the value of pending charge and you can enter on a particular page where this method used

-random merchant ID with fix pending change 1 USD/EUR, same process as above

This solution provide enough security for card processing companies, since such a details above only available for the true card/accout owner, so no need to worry about stolen cards.

API integration

So here we are...ready to choose the desired company for our sms needs but sometimes
facing problems about the integration in previously working script or website.

As long as not want to do some fancy application usually the on site help enough.
But this not always true for every company...sometimes pretty difficult to find out
every details.

Why we like or not like Unicode?

There are about 6900 known languages worldwide, however the situation not so bad.

Here is a list of currently availabe Unicode code charts.

The standard GSM alphabet is not enough and limited, so Unicode is the solution for every problem.

From my favorite companies only one not support unicode sms sending, why still like them very much? (read the next post about txtlocal.co.uk

The evolution started...

First of all not so easy to find the right solution and the right company.
Since I'd like to send sms with special accent characters like íéűáúőóü and ÍÉŰÁÚÖÓÜ (I just hope you'll see on screen).

The most important advantage of smsxchange.com the native support of these special characters. The websms from their homepage or from any other server with 2 simple file (1 html + 1 php file) enough to send those special chars.

You can send standard GSM alphabet messages via E-mail to SMS too.

Several methods supported:

Method I: Sending SMS to Single User
Method II: Sending Same Message to Multiple Users
Method III: Sending Same Message to Multiple Users

Some other nice function also available but the list advantage pretty short for me.

Why?

Several times try to reach the support but no answer at all.

the main purpose of this blog, to share all of my experiences about sms sending via HTTP API, SMTP API, FTP API. I'm not a professonal php programmer, but I like collect all of the relevant informations to help for everybody.
